This year in Healthy Schools we are going to be looking at lots of mindfulness activities and how our well being is important part of keeping our bodies and minds healthy.

This week we read the story of 'The Dot' which is all a story about a girl named Vashti who is encouraged by her teacher to take a risk.  Vashti does not believe she can draw.  She is filled with self-doubt until her teacher gently persuades her to, “just make a mark and see where it takes you.” This story shows how one reluctant learner gains self-esteem with just one dot.

If you would like to read the story here is a link.

We then created our own dot pictures and talked about how we can improve our self esteem. If we can't do something we can say 'I can't do it yet.' until we can and keep trying.
