2019-20

Healthy School Council meet every Monday after school with Mrs King and Mrs Lines. They are very committed to helping to keep our school a Healthy School!

Check back here for regular updates of what we have been up to!

This half term we are focusing on Healthy Eating. We have been researching and making healthy snack ideas, planning a healthy meal. We are looking forward to sharing this with the whole school.

We really enjoyed creating fruit art. We used our favourite fruits and had a go at creating different animals. It was a really fun way to help us reach our 5 a day! They were delicious! laugh

For National Fitness Day, we took part in the '10@10' (10 minutes of fitness at 10am), we motivated all pupils and staff in the Daily Mile, all classes took part in mindfulness and yoga activities and all classes made either a fruit salad or fruit smoothie.

This week we looked at, and developed our Action Plan for the year, we have lots of exciting activities planned to help make sure we keep our school a Healthy School.

The Healthy School Council became 'lunchbox detecitves' at lunch time this week. We awarded children who had something healthy in their lunch boxes with a sticker. We were so pleased to see lots of healthy, balanced lunches!

In Healthy Schools we have talked about the different food groups that we need to eat to keep our bodies and minds healthy. We decided we would have a go at growing something ourselves. We decided we would make 'cress caterpillars'. We really enjoyed designing how we want our caterpillars to look.

This week we decorated the egg boxes for our caterpillars and planted the cress seeds. We can't wait to watch our cress grow smiley
